Volunteers are the heart of the Russell Legion.   Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting veterans, strengthening our community, and keeping our traditions alive.

Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a meaningful way to stay involved, volunteering with the Legion is a rewarding way to give back while meeting great people and making lasting friendships.

Ways You Can Volunteer

Executive and Committee Roles

Members who want to become more involved can volunteer on the Executive or serve on one of our committees. These roles help guide the activities and direction of the Legion and ensure that we continue to support veterans and our community.

Casual Volunteer

By adding your name to our casual volunteer list, we will reach out when we have opportunitites to support our events.  This is a flexible, no-obligation way to contribute.

Event Support

All of our events rely on volunteers to make them successful.  You can help by:

• Assisting with event planning

• Setting up and decorating before events

• Helping during events 

• Taking down and cleaning up afterward

The Poppy Campaign

The Annual Remembrance Day Poppy Campaign is one of the most important traditions of the Legion. Volunteers can help by:

• Setting up poppy boxes

• Selling poppies in the community

• Helping with collection and organization of boxes

Student Volunteer Hours 

High school students are always welcome to volunteer with us and can earn community service hours required for graduation.
