The Legion has never been so busy with so many sports leagues, events, fundraisers, meetings, hall rentals, and so much more. Our membership is steadily rising.
You can always stay up to date on our facebook, instagram, and on our website under Upcoming Events. We are nearing an end to our 2024 Executive Board and are looking forward to a new executive starting up in June 2025….. Thank you everyone who is supporting our events, leagues and lounge.
It’s been a few busy months at the Branch. We have officially reopened the Upstairs and are Open for business. Our Downstairs lounge is hoping to reopen in February. We have introduced and started a new in-house dart league, had live entertainment, a euchre tournament, opened a new cornhole league, and so many more events to follow.
Sneak peek whats to come….. Yuk Yuk’s Comedy night, pool league, Super Bowl, Daytona 500, Spencer Scharf Free music, Chicken Fried Band, Murder Mystery Dinners, honours, and awards…….. The ideas keep coming….

We are super excited to announce that we have been granted occupancy of the Upstairs Hall.
We will reopen the doors on Tuesday December 3rd from 2-9pm.

We are so excited to announce we have been given the approval to open the Upstairs Hall for our Armistice Diner on Saturday the 9th of November from 4-6pm. (tickets are still available)
Following our Remembrance Day Ceremony On November 11th at 1030am we will be inviting everyone inside the main upstairs hall.
We have not been able to hold any official functions since our fire that happened in May 2022.
Although our downstairs lounge is still under repair we are all ready to have everyone back upstairs.

We are well underway with our preparations for the upcoming poppy campaign, which starts on October 25th. Thank you to all of our volunteers. Our Ladies Auxillary will be hosting the Armistice Dinner back at the Russell Legion this year on November 9th from 4-6pm. Check our upcoming events for details on how to purchase tickets and information. The Remembrance Day Ceremony will begin at 10:30am on November 11th at the Russell Legion. There will be no parade this year. All residents are invited inside the branch after the ceremony for refreshments, snacks, and live music. Stay tuned for more information..
The weather was shining for our past Golf tournament. Thank you to all of our players, volunteers, and sponsors. We had a Great time and are looking forward to Next Year. We recently ran the BBQ for the Russell Yearly Baseball tourney and raised over 4000.00 for our Branch. Thank you to everyone who was involved.

We had an another successful Canada Day Breakfast held at the Russell Arena this year. Thank you to all of the committee members, volunteers and Executive who put this event on. We hope everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast…. No better way to start your Canada Day off.❤❤🍁
On an Update to the Legion Re Opening News……..
The Russell Legion has just signed a contract with Frecon Construction to begin the repairs required for our building, which was damaged in a fire in 2022.
A construction team is expected to be on site as of July 29th.
We are very hopeful for a Fall re-opening and will be planning lots of fun activities for all our members.
More updates will be provided as the rebuild project progresses.

The Royal Canadian Legion Russell Branch #372 will be Hosting a FREE Community “Canada Day Pancake Breakfast” Coffee, pancakes, sausage, eggs, and more Everyone is welcome! July 1st from 9-12pm At the Russell Arena. Free tattoos and flags for the kids, Yard games and board games will also be available. Donations are always welcomed. The Russell Agricultural Society will host their Canada Day activities on the Fair Grounds starting at noon.
